The Best Autumn Day Trip in New York
It’s time to get spooky, ya’ll! If you’re stuck in New York City and itching to get away for even just a day, or you’re in another part of the state and have already seen enough pumpkin patches for a lifetime and need a new way to get your Halloween fix, I am happy to say that I found the perfect place!
The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze is the perfect day trip for the autumn season and it’s situated on a piece of land just an hour’s train ride from Grand Central Station in New York City. You hop on a train towards Croton-Harmon, walk 10 minutes, and then find yourself in a pumpkin paradise. Or, if you’re already a New York State resident, you can just hop in your car and get there easily.
There are over 7,000 pumpkins all carved and lit up to experience. It was like walking through Halloweentown and literally was the best fall activity one could ask for. There’s even a cider and cinnamon donut stand on the premises so you can get the full experience. And the best part is that even if you can’t make it in time for Halloween, it’s open all through November too, so you can make it a Thanksgiving adventure as well. I hope my photographs of the event can help inspire you to visit and get your basic witch on!
