Why You Must Visit Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto

Orange you glad I'm showing you this place? Okay, sorry for the dumb pun. But Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto is the definition of orange vibes at its finest. You may have seen this place in your friend's photos of Kyoto or even in a scene from the Memoirs of a Geisha film. To put it simply, this place is a must-visit if you're in Kyoto and is worth a visit if you're in Japan.

This Shinto shrine is an entire area of Kyoto where you can walk up a mountain through all these orange arches. It's worth the trek and so beautiful. At the bottom, there's an influx of tourists that may turn off visitors who wish to seek out this place in peace, but the further you go up, the fewer people have made the journey and it gets quieter as you climb. It is free to visit and is just a short train ride from central Kyoto.
