Secret Instagram Spots In Paris You Can't Miss
I've been to Paris five times and there's a reason I keep going back. It's one of the most beautiful places in the world and you can fight me on that. In the past, I've written about spots you should check out if you head to Paris a second time and have already done many of the usual touristy things, but there's even more I have to share. If you're looking for secret spots to get some cute Instagram shots, then this is where you can find some of my favorite, lesser-known places where you may be the only one there trying to capture the beauty. With these locations, you'll be the only one, so you can have some quality time to get a selfie, a fashion shoot or just people-less photos, which is the goal, right? I've included a map so you can easily seek out all these places for yourself.
Avenue of Camoens
You could go get a million photos of the Eiffel Tower in the same places as everyone else, OR you could head off on a street nearby and not only get a unique spot for a photo, but a place that only a few photographers know of. If you walk away from the Trocadero and up a beautiful flight of stairs, you'll find a place that lends well to photoshoots (while I was there, a couple engagement shoots came through). You get the Eiffel Tower in the background, but without any of the people and from a new angle. It's also a good place to set up a selfie as there is plenty of spots to rest your camera or phone and still have the full view.
Villa Leandre
Up in the hills of Montmartre, there's a lovely little street that you'd easily pass by if you didn't know about it. With its cute houses covered with ivy, wandering down this avenue is definitely worth a quick walk.
Place Dalida
This spot is gaining a bit of traction with tourists, but still pretty deserted each time I walk by, so make sure you either go early in the day or be willing to have a titch of patience if you don't want anyone in your photos. This winding street has the most incredible view speckled with pink buildings as you see the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur peaking out at the top. At the end of it, you can also find La Maison Rose, which is an iconic pink cafe and a popular photo spot. Many only stop here and don't walk the entire street, so make sure no matter which end you start at, that you see all of it.
Le Mur des Je T'aime (I Love You Wall)
Another place you could easily walk past in Montmartre is an art installation in a small park. A wall entirely filled with the simple phrase, "I Love You," but in hundreds of different languages. It's a lovely reminder that there is some good in the world, and it doesn't hurt that it's a beautiful wall, perfect for some heart-filled shots.
59 Rivoli
This odd and colorful door leads into an artist collective. While you can go inside for free, the door is just as fun to stop at and take a shot. As it is a home for artists and their residencies, the door and the outside of the building is constantly changing, so there's no telling what it will be like when you find it.
Galerie Vivienne
If you want a slice of Italy while you're in Paris, you must find your way to a Galerie. While there are many gallerias in Paris, the one that evokes the most Italian feel must definitely be Galerie Vivienne. With the sun coming through the glass ceiling, brushing the interiors with a golden hue, this feels like a walk through Milan more than through Paris.
Pont de Bir-Hakeim
You may know this as the "Inception" bridge, but perhaps have never actually been on it. Since it's a bit away from many tourist sites, it tends to be an area mostly locals would use. However, it's a gorgeous bridge and you get a great view of the Eiffel Tower from it.
Odette Cafe
One of the prettiest cafes in Paris, Au Vieux Paris d'Arcole, isn't such a secret anymore and is popping up on more and more Instagram accounts. So since that's not really a secret, one of my other favorites that has just as much French charm is a cafe called Odette. Not only is the name of the place very Parisian, the facade feels very vintage France, so it's the total package for a photograph.
Rue Paul Albert
If you're wandering around behind the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur, you can find things you didn't expect. I love to walk behind it and down the side streets because you never know what you'll find. If you walk down Rue Paul Albert, at house number 15, you can find a bubblegum pink building that I personally think is so divine. And then at the end of the street, there's an adorable restaurant, L'Eté en Pente Douce, that has rainbow tables set up out front, which make for a colorful spot to grab some photos. Overall, it's just a lovely street and I highly suggest it as it is often quite quiet and not many tourists know about it.
