Shinjuku Golden Gai in Tokyo

In Tokyo’s Shinjuku district, there is an area of bars and nightclubs that come alive in the darker hours. Golden Gai is famous for its tiny establishments that allow only 2-10 people in at a time. Many won’t even let foreigners in or charge a cover if you’re not Japanese. Whether you walk around during the day or night, it’s a unique part of Tokyo that is a must-see on your visit there.

On my first visit to Japan, I tried to capture various times of the day in this little district, as well as use my LensBaby Composer lens to get some interesting affects while shooting in the area. I hope my photographs can convince you to add this to your list of places to visit in the Japanese capital city.
